This week's Resolution Recipe: Green Garlic Appetizer.

Thin slices of bread
cream cheese
green garlic, sliced thinly

Spread cream cheese on bread and sprinkle the green garlic over. Eat.

What worked: It was exceedingly easy, of course. I never said these had to be hard, just "new".
I used some older house-made bread and it was good. I used fresh bread straight out of the oven and it was sublime.

What didn't: I had to limit my intake.

Will I make it again? I might have to wait until next year - the green garlic season is about over. But oh yes.

I am a bad foodie. I had never heard of green garlic. Now I want to try it!

Green garlic is fresh, young garlic -- the shoots are like green onions with a garlic flavor to them. Our farmers' markets started selling them in the spring a few years ago and they are now one of our permanent purchases during the season.
