What was the best concert or show you have attended?
I'd call it a tie between the last Who tour and Tom Petty's Wildflowers tour, both at Shoreline in Mtn View. The Who played a week after Entwistle died and the energy from the band - and the audience - was amazing. Daltrey screaming "How could I measure up to anyone now after such a love as this"...

The Petty show was the last stop on the tour, and he played for close to three hours. It seriously rocked. Plus he played a hysterically funny song that had, as he introduced it, "gratuitary drug references".

What was the worst, or in retrospect, the most embarrassing?
When I was 12 or so, I saw the Captain & Tennille at the Circle Star Theatre.

I need to clarify the Dire Straits concert...

I was in the front row -- center stage, up against the gate that kept the crowd from clambering onto the stage.

Of course, there were about 75 security people there, most of them bored. Evidently, Ozzy had performed there the night before, and the crowd had gotten out of hand, so they beefed up security for the 'next night's rock show'.

Of course, the review in the newspaper the next day described us as the "White wine & Brie Crowd". I don't think there was a chance that *anyone* was going to climb up on stage.
