The last of the kimchi
Mar. 31st, 2014 03:38 pmLast week's Resolution Recipe: Pork/Kimchi Noodle stir-fry.
1/2 lb noodles
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 lb ground pork (I used a mixture of ground chicken, turkey, soy sauce, shiitake mushroom, and other that we affectionately refer to as mock-pork.)
1/2 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced (Ha! I used... more.)
1/4 cup water
2 Tbsp fish sauce
2 tsp sugar
2 cups kimchi
1/2 cup green onions (I used green garlic)
Cook noodles al dente. Rinse, drain, and set aside. In a wok heat the oil, then add pork, onions, and garlic. Cook until the pork is browned and cooked through, about 5-8 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the water, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir in the noodles and cook until the noodles are heated through, about 1-2 minutes. Fold in the remainder and cook for 1 more minute to warm the kimchi. Garnish with additional green onions and serve warm.
What worked: It was okay. Different from our usual stir-fries.
What didn't: Eh, it was uninspiring.
Will I make it again? Probably not.
