Rub-a-dub-rib.
Apr. 16th, 2015 10:02 amThis week's Resolution Recipe: Spice Rub for Barbecue.
2 Tbsp paprika (I used half sweet, half smoked)
2 Tbsp cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp granulated garlic (I omitted, and rubbed fresh garlic on the meat instead)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp cumin
1 Tbsp coriander
1 Tbsp dry mustard
2 tsp sage
2 tsp oregano
3 Tbsp pepper
1/3 cup salt
Mix. Rub. Grill.
What worked: It was good on the mammoth double Flintstones cow ribs from Jed & Rosie. Seriously, these things were two feet long. We couldn't finish them.
What didn't: It wasn't that exciting.
Will I make it again? I have a lot left over. I think I prefer the other dry rub we have made, which uses nutmeg. Mmm, nutmeg.
