Locus musings

SF Novel: I have only read two and was disinterested in the other three. Clear winner: Ancillary Sword, Ann Leckie.
F Novel: I've read four and the fifth is on my to-read list. I enjoyed two and rather liked two. Edge to City of Stairs, Robert Jackson Bennett. It felt more original than The Goblin Emperor (the other rather like).
YA Novel: Hmm. I read two and probably won't read the others. The two are very different but both accomplished. Half a King, Joe Abercrombie is more my usual style but Waistcoats and Weaponry was engaging fluff.
First Novel: I've only read one - The Emperor's Blades, Brian Stavely - and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Haven't read or formed an opinion on any of the other categories.
