So *this* is how the rich live
May. 30th, 2004 11:10 amWent to the Giants game last night. More than that, we watched the game in one of the luxury suites.
Last time I was in a luxury box, it was at Candlestick Park and it sucked. We were in the end zone and it was soulless, like being in a nicer-upholstered version of your own living room but with worse beer.
The newer boxes at Pac Bell Park - well, I could get used to that. We were on the third-base line, and the boxes have outdoor seats so you can watch the game in RL. Granted, it's a lot more isolating than even being on the club level, sitting with the rest of the peons. But since I was a guest of a broker and not paying for the suite, I don't feel badly about the snobbishness.
It was a beautiful evening; we got good parking; the Giants won and we cheered Yorvit's double appropriately; I asked the concierge to buy a strand of puka shells for me, which I wore during the game; and there was a fireworks show afterwards.
All in all, a good day. My ankles are complaining a bit about the walk to and from the car, but that's par for the course.

Date: 2004-05-30 12:40 pm (UTC)I'm always amused that they call them "brokers" since they appear to be "richers" from where I'm sitting :)
