I habe a code. I blame the petri-dish Hall of Justice, but apparently significant numbers of people also got sick from Crown last week. Who knows? I am feeling better today, but also trying not to push it. I may work from home tomorrow.

Coronet was more fun than I expected (especially with feeling crappy in the morning from cold-induced lack of sleep, sneeziness, and scratchy throat). I would have blown the event off except for two important reasons: 1) the wife has a new, beautiful coronet from [livejournal.com profile] cathyn that she wanted to show off, he understandably wanted pictures, and we owed him money for same which we'd said we'd pay at the event; and 2) [livejournal.com profile] aastg needed checks signed and I'm the only other convenient/legal person able to do so until next week. So we piled our what-always-seems-excessive-for-a-day-event stuff into the car and headed back out to Napa. We took a blanket so I could crash out on the grass as needed, and I planned to take it easy and not push things.

I had an unexpectedly good time. By that I mean I figured it would be a bit of a slog because of my not feeling well and the obligations for being there. When we arrived it was cool and foggy (my happy place) and I even pulled out my cloak until the sun burned the fog off and it became a gorgeous sunny day. I took care of business and socialized a bit. I ended up sitting at gate because the constable was on his own -- it was noon, so things were winding down, but still -- and Oliver is a really nice guy who I don't hang out with enough. We had very good chattage, I helped a bit with gate so he could use the privy, and we encouraged random curious passers-by to come in after signing required waivers and see what was going on. One young college couple stayed through closing court with big smiles on their faces, so that's why we encourage it!

Oh yeah - there was a tourney. I didn't particularly pay attention. It sounds like it went well, so good.

I went to the principality business meeting. My presence isn't required and won't be even after I step up to the Kingdom job, but I went anyway to kibitz. (The wife packed up the car, which was awfully nice of her. She'll be an officer widow for the next couple years and knows this.) It was fine. Somewhat boring but that's how these things go. Then eight of us went off to dinner at a nearby Indian restaurant. We were warned that it was slow; we got there around 6:30, I think, and left a couple hours later. The food was excellent as was the company.

Today: dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, probably some exchequer stuff.
