I got new lenses for my glasses. The prescription isn't that different, but it's been two years so what the hey. I don't actually notice a significant improvement, but I did have them move the reading blend line down a bit. That is much better - I was finding myself having to tilt my head up to look at distance.

Every time I think about springing for the automatic darkening, but I never do.

I got the automatic darkening once. It doesn't get dark enough to make it worth having - I still found myself switching out to my prescription sunglasses when driving or doing anything outdoors.

I really like my polarized sunglasses, and the ability to switch to clear lenses when it gets too dim. Auto-darkening lenses look rather bad in photos from renaissance faires, because it draws attention to the fact that we're wearing modern stuff.

I agree about pictures - that's another but lesser reason I've generally avoided the auto-darkening ones.

My rx changes every year so sunglasses was not an affordable option. I have come to love my photo tint.
