That was by far the geekiest dream I've ever had.

I don't expect that anyone else will actually understand this. That's okay; this is a very deep subset of the financial markets, and most people don't know the lingo. Heck, my cow-orkers won't get this without explanation. The effort that my subconscious put into this is staggering... but why?

I dreamed that a business contact, who is an inflation strategist, was holding a TIPS-themed Christmas costume party. The wife asked what she should wear. I told her to go in gold. I was dressed in twigs with balloons (i.e. inflation hedge). Someone else at the party was also in gold, but with added deely-boppers (a gold bug). Another person at the party suggested I add a cape to my outfit, so that I could be a dynamic inflation hedge.

The best costume, in my opinion, was a person dressed as the top of a Japanese house.
