Good thing the bus was nearly empty

Standing up as the bus approached my stop this morning, I somehow mis-stepped just as the bus accelerated. I lurched, lost my balance, and fell ungracefully, landing directly on my butt. One of the other two passengers asked if I was okay. I answered "The only thing hurt was my dignity." Both parts of that were true.

I had that happen a few months ago on Muni. I was the last one on, and no one of the many abled people in the disabled seating area wanted to get up to get me a seat. When Muni started with its usual jolt I fell over (onto my butt, the softest place to land). By the time I was able to get up, people managed to get up and let me sit down. I hope they all remember that the next time they're being selfish.
