I stole farmount's joke for my header at work:
"What did you do to the cat, dear? It looks half dead." -Mrs. Schrodinger

And I got the following message from someone I occasionally deal with:
"excuse my ignorance, but who is Mrs. Schrodinger?"

...

I got the same sort of non-appreciation awhile back when I used the header
"Loki, Eris, and Coyote walk into a bar, and the bartender says 'Order, please.'"

Actually, the 'half-dead' thing doesn't actually work.

See, the whole point is that the cat is both 100 percent alive, *AND* 100 percent dead *UNTIL* you look in the box, whereupon one half of the wavefunction (the 'Ket' portion) collapses to zero.

So, she wouldn't see a half-dead cat.
