This week's Resolution Recipe: Frozen Irish Coffee.
1 oz Irish whiskey
1 oz espresso
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 oz milk
1 generous scoop vanilla ice cream
5 large ice cubes
Blend everything in a blender until totally combined.
What worked: Pretty easy, and easy to drink.
What didn't: It was not frozen. It was a slushy. I put it in the freezer for a while, but between the alcohol and not really having any freezable base, nothing happened. If I had managed to freeze it the drink would have been mostly ice crystals since there's nothing to really emulsify anyway.
It also tasted like a coffee milkshake, not like Irish coffee. So 0/3 on the name.
Will I make it again? No.
