So, Periodontist appointment yesterday afternoon.

The good news: I have no exposed toothroot, which means no grafts for the immediate future. Gum grafts terrify me. Partly because I've had little-to-no dental surgery (wisdom teeth when I was 20, no cavities ever until last year [sigh]) and mostly because of the horror stories from friends and acquaintances. I'd do it if recommended, but I'm relieved that it's not.

The less good: still significant gum recession, which I knew. It's not that I don't floss or brush; it's a legacy of genetics as well as hard brushing when I was much younger. He's recommending regular dentist tooth cleaning every three months instead of six. That's probably not all covered by our insurance, but oh well.

Roger had that problem and had his gums lasered (pew pew) and his gums are now in shockingly good condition! Idk if that's viable for you, but the regular cleaning (3 months as well) + lasers has dramatically helped his mouth
