Damn Right It's Better Than Yours
Jun. 25th, 2018 09:16 amThis week's Resolution Recipe: Peanut Butter Bourbon Milkshake.
Or, as I actually made it, Ground Peanut Irish Whiskey Milkshake. Which sounds much less appealing.
2 oz bourbon (I don't own any bourbon as it is too sweet for my taste. I used Bushmills Irish whiskey instead.)
1/2 oz maple syrup
1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter (I didn't have any, so I ground up 1/2 cup peanuts instead)
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 cup ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender, and blend until fully incorporated and frothy.
What worked: It was a yummy dessert. Not a "drink with a straw" milkshake but an "eat from the blender with a spoon" milkshake. The flavors melded pretty well. The technique worked very well, far better than I expected actually.
What didn't: A rare case where having a sweeter bourbon would have worked better; I'm not sure the Bushmills added anything. I wasn't sure that rye would be a better substitute though.
Will I make it again? I won't say no, but I'm not putting it in the recipe box.
