Against my somewhat-better judgment, I am going to a work function tonight. I decided after the last one that I was done with the meet-and-greet where I pretend to socialize from the edge of the room like a junior high school dance.

However. Since this is hearing the firm's economist speak, it's slightly more interesting and useful than the usual "how great our products are" talk. It's also a full dinner rather than glass of wine and hors-d'oeuvres.

The downside of that, of course, is a late night tonight.
