Galen had a bad night. Which meant we all did. For no reason that we could discern, he yowled constantly. The wife would go pick him up; he'd squirm free, go into another room, and yowl. She placed him on the bed where I was; he sat on me briefly, went into another room, and yowled. This went on for hours until he stressed himself to the point of throwing up. Then he calmed down and slept in his bed.

Just have the damn hairball, cat.

We do give him a nightly dose. He actually loves the stuff.

My weirdos love it too. I had one cat who hated it; we had to smear it on his paw so he’d lick it off. Learned the hard way to rub it into his fur so he couldn’t shake it off!
