I just ordered DSL service for the home. our_meg, if you're in that building, please put in a good word for me. 8)

Even better, the company will pay for it. I just have to be a disaster recovery site. Fair trade.

'Course, now I should dump the dialup account and look into alternatives for web hosting and e-mail. Change is good - but sometimes annoying.

Dunno - we'd need to get web hosting for the wife's domain, and e-mail may be part of that. I use a forwarding service, so I don't care as much. I'll hold off until I know more what's going on.

Normally if you have a domain hosted somewhere, you can have email set up through that ISP ... at least in my experience. I use earthlink, and I guess it depends on how much webspace she needs. I think the default account is 10 Megabytes, but it's been a loooong time since I had a basic account.

If you get DSL (and if someone else is paying for it!) you may want to check out voice-over-internet protocol. I'm getting tired of the damn mice chewing up the wires (I'm waiting for the nice Verizon guy right now to show up and fix the wires) so I think I'll be changing over to it. If you decide to go with Vonage, let me know -- they have a kickback sort of thing where if a friend refers you, you get a month free and the friend gets 2-3 months free. Quite neat.
