I've come up with a decent justification for the potluck tomorrow. I don't have much hope that the cow-orkers will appreciate the effort of a home-made pecan pie, given the history.

However:
This is not a recipe I've done before. It's a dry run for Thanksgiving.
This way, if anything goes wrong, I poison my cow-orkers instead of family and friends.

I can live with that.

Good idea. You could label it "home made pecan pie" though and see if anyone makes amazed noises.

Or, if you're feeling perverse, ask everyone this riddle today "What is sweet and dangerous? Shark-infested pecan pie."

Then serve it tomorrow, with or without little dorsal fins sticking up out of it.

Good Luck!

If it helps, I LOVE pecan pie (and fortunately my wife can make it with her eyes closed), so you can always make it for me.

:-)

I'll trade you...

What recipe are you using? I've used the same one for years, and it's pretty fast (but I don't make my own pie crust anymore).

I used one from How to Bake, by Nick Malgieri. It was also pretty quick. Even with making my own pie crust.

I'd never made a pecan pie before, so I didn't know if it was going to be fast or not.
