Had dinner last night at Town Hall, a trendy place run by some chefs who used to work at Postrio. I'm not all that big on trendy restaurants; this was chosen by the brokers footing the dinner check, though, so I didn't object. While crowded and loud, at least it wasn't a "see and be seen" kind of place.

The food was good. I'd consider going back on my own dime. My dessert was superb - a butterscotch/chocolate pudding. Too rich and too much for me to finish!

I made aioli last night to go with salmon. It worked near-perfectly, allaying some of my mayonnaise concerns. On that note, why do people insist on calling it "garlic aioli"? That's like saying "meat sausage", "egg Hollandaise", or - outside the food realm - "The El Camino".

Bark.

Dunno. Must be the same people who need PIN Numbers for ATM Machines.

Maybe they make it the way I sometimes do...

My personal favorite re: repetitiveness is "The La Brea Tar Pits."

I actually knew someone (in Alaska) who got a business license for "The Department of Redundancy Department". Someone at the business license bureau HAD to have had a sense of humor, because he got two of them ... and proudly displayed them in frames side-by-side (same year, all that -- exact duplicates).
