No fart jokes, please. Apparently the '95 Saturn now qualifies.
It failed a smog test by one point. I'm torn between junking the car - although I'm not quite ready to go buy a new one - and spending the cash to get a new catalytic converter, or whatever it needs to pass this time. The problem with that, of course, is that I'm still planning to replace the whole car this year.

[livejournal.com profile] falzalot, I may take you up on your Toyota family member offer...

Well, it turns out the story was much exaggerated. He's not so much a friend of the family as he is a guy my brother's BIL has bought a ton of cars from because he gives him a great price. And admittedly, my folks got a FANTASTIC deal on their highlander, but if you're looking at getting a hybrid, you're basically screwed. There are no deals.

But he's a nice guy, intelligent, and not swarmy. I'll email you his contact info. heh. Better check with him soon. If my car doesn't sell in 10 days, I'm backing out of the Prius, and you don't want that reflected on you. :->

Last time I had to get smogged, I failed by one point as well. Then they ran the car a bit, and ran the test again and I passed. All without my asking. It was awesome.

I believe SF has stronger smog regs than the rest of the state.

Can you blame 'em? With that many vehicles in that small an area, I certainly feel it's a good idea. <g>

Well, that and it's the People's Republic of San Francisco. I expect them to push for supplemental auto registration fees soon, because only rich capitalist running dogs people have cars.

Hmm. Well, don't live there, but that sure sounds more like Berzerkeley than what I would expect of SF. Weird.
