Customer Service - what a concept
Oct. 6th, 2004 10:39 amThe wife just got off the phone with the mortgage company. We need to get payoff information from them to the escrow company, to settle the sale of the father-in-law's place.
"What documentation do you need?"
"Let's see... our records show that you're on the account that has been paying the mortgage the last several months. Just a death certificate will do - and we've already sent the payoff information out."
(astonished pause on our end)
Contrast that with the four-hour ordeal we went through with Wells Fargo to close out the accounts there. I know which financial institution I'd deal with again.
