'Cause I made this on Friday, but we didn't eat them until yesterday, and it was waaaay too late when we got home to type this in.

We had a nice, quiet time at Purg. Much sitting around and schmoozing. This may have been helped by our daytripping - I couldn't get Friday off, but I've also been a bit burnt out on camping as we've done a lot more than usual this year. Oh, and the weather was nice for a change.

I was completely gobsmacked by being called up for the Queen's Treasure award. This is given to people who contributed to royalty's gift baskets, and I donated a bunch of conserves. But I've never thought about the award, so I wasn't expecting it... because of that, the nicest award I've gotten in about 9.5 years. (Also one of the very few, but that's beside the point.) And Her Maj leaned over as she was handing me the dangly to say that many people raved about the conserves the next day. So the additional warm fuzzy was good too.

Dinner with the Duke and Duchess of Guildemar was also nice - they did this as a thank-you for their court, but they also extended the invite to [livejournal.com profile] maestrateresa and us. The food was pleasant and the schmoozing was good.

I lost a chair peg last night in the moving-about-after-dark; it's the only time I've lost one in 15 years. Oh well, down to one spare now.

Holy crap!

I got a surprise e-mail today. My Award of Arms scroll is done!
It's been a long, often frustrating time trying to get it done since it was awarded in Caid in April 1989. The joys of moving away from the kingdom where it was awarded - at one point, I was actually told that their scribal policy was not to do scrolls for people who moved out of kingdom. Fortunately, that changed fairly quickly. (Or something. I was later told that this was never policy. Whichever.)

Now I have to figure out how to get it - [livejournal.com profile] stella_nordica, are you going down south any time soon? Or maybe [livejournal.com profile] acanthusleaf is coming up to Twelfth Night...

After 16+ years, I may finally have a scroll to put on the wall!
