The Key to Turgid Drama
Sep. 7th, 2021 08:54 amI got to the office today and fumbled around in my bag for my badge, which has my office key attached. I keep it in the outside pocket of my bag to make it easily accessible; it's still secure.
I fumbled around for it. And then some more. It wasn't there. I realized I probably had accidentally dumped it on the (home) office floor when re-packing my bag for today. Oh well... the building security can let me in with only minor delays. But because no one else is in the office, I will have to leave the door unlocked when I use the bathroom or leave for any other reason. Which I don't like to do because it's not secure. Granted, the elevators are on perma-lock until further notice, but people can still get security to swipe access for them.
I unpacked my bag to set up my laptop - and there was my badge and key, securely stashed on the inside of my bag. Which I hadn't checked, because I never keep the badge there.
At least I can lock the office door now.
