Dec. 2nd, 2005 07:26 amI had a nice boys' night out dinner with the fuzzy upstairs neighbor last night. Cassoulet at Le Central, yum. With the rainy weather, it was the first time I got to wear the trench coat and fedora with matching band. If it had been foggy rather than stormy, I would have felt all Bogey-like.

Date: 2005-12-02 07:32 pm (UTC)Last year I had a dish in Belgium that they called cassoulet, but it was unlike any variation I've had here. It was prawns in a cheesey creamy sauce that tasted like it had some kind of booze in it as well. They served it with a huge basket of bread to sop up all the cheesey goodness with. I've been on a quest for a similar recipe since I returned, but am getting nowhere. None of the cassoulet recipes I've seen so far even remotely resemble that. Any suggestions on where I should look next?
