I don't go to see Disney animated movies in the theater, nor do I own any. It's a long-standing policy of mine, dating back to when I was a small child.

This deal makes that tougher.

The real question: is this going to be like Warren Buffett buying See's Candy, where the quality does not change? Or will it be like what many fear will happen with Hershey owning Scharffen Berger?

At least it may prevent Disney from making quickly-produced crappy direct-to-video sequels, which they had the right to do if Pixar had walked away. This way we don't have to suffer Toy Story III through VI, or World of Monsters Inc.

Well, if Disney owns Pixar they can do whatever they damn-well please with the properties. That's one concern. The other is that they will water-down the artistic integrity of Pixar, which is I assume your major concern (it is mine!). I am sorry that things have gone that direction, myself.

Hmmm. I'll see if my Rexie (one of the BAD Girls refs) or my cousin Molly have anything to say about this.

Most of the articles I've been reading about the merger focus more on how Steve Jobs will affect Disney, rather than how Disney will affect Pixar.

If the articles I've been reading are correct, the buyout makes Jobs the single largest Disney shareholder.

I'm not especially worried. Yet.
