I stopped by one of the ginormous national banks yesterday to deposit money from this weekend's event. While I was there, I received some unwelcome news.

Apparently, I wasn't a signer on the account.

This was news to me, especially as I turned in the paperwork six months ago. And have written checks in the meantime, not that banks actually hand-check signatures. That lapse meant that no checks bounced, fortunately.

The branch that I had gone to was quite busy that day, and it appears that they simply passed the signature card to the central depository - they didn't bother to, say, update the account with my name.

I have no complaints regarding the person who worked with me yesterday - he was quite helpful. But as for the rest - jerkwads.

Oh, that reminds me -- assuming that we're talking about the same ginormous national bank -- they've never changed the address on the canton's bank account, either. [livejournal.com profile] seamoose is still receiving our statements, and we filled out the change of address forms before [livejournal.com profile] naadhira and family moved away. Makes me wonder if they also neglected to update the new signers to the account. Gonna have to check into that.

I hear you. I am willing to give each ginormous bank chain one chance--til the screw up big time, and they *always* do. Then I cross them off my list and move all my money to the next one. Sigh. There's one in particular that burned me so badly eight years ago that to this day when I walk through their parking lot, I spit.

We don't pooh-pooh company names, here in LiveJournal land.

If you can't say anything nice about them, call them 'Tittybank' or 'Smells Cargo'.

Shouldn't that be Flohnson and Flohnson Flarmaceuticals? (grin)

In that case, Stank of America.

Stank of America pissed me off at the tender age of 16, which is what caused me to adopt the "one strike" policy. I have not allowed them to touch a dime of my money ever since.

Close! It was Cal Fed which has since been absorbed by Shittybank--but their fine customer service polices have been continued, so I hate them now too.
