Two suggestions I liked defining the new name, SBC Park:

Surely Bring Cash
Still Better than Candlestick

The one I liked best, though, assumes I had oodles of dough to throw around and could buy out the naming contract to call it...

Emperor Norton Stadium.

It's reasonably lyrical, screams "San Francisco", and it doesn't sound lame like most corporate names.

Actually, the best "legitmate" suggestion I heard was that they convince Ralph Lauren to buy the naming rights, and rename the stadium "The Polo Grounds". History and corporate sponsorship all in one.

And, while SBC park is a sterile-sounding name, when did Pac Bell Park become this hallowed name for the ages?

It's a corporate name either way.

Sure, Pac Bell Park is corporate - but it sounds much less sterile. As corporate names go it's more euphonious than, say, Pro Player Stadium or Fruit of the Loom Field...

Oh yes please! All hats off to the Emperpor! But where to get the funding...

I'm still waiting for "Emperor Norton Bridge" (the Bay Bridge, which
had been commanded to be built by the Emperor during his day!) to catch
on.

P.S.: I still haven't been in there the first time. :-P
