throttling back my fanboy tendencies
Nov. 19th, 2003 07:45 amOne of my cow-orkers watched the first half hour of The Two Towers recently, and was describing it:
"So I got to the point where those three dudes are surrounded by these guys on horses, and..."
I forcibly stopped myself from leaping out of the chair, grabbing him by the shirt, and shouting "It's the riders of Rohan, you idiot! The three dudes, they're named..."
Ahem. Bad for the corporate image.

God as my witness, Andy, I thought turkeys could float.
Date: 2003-11-19 04:09 pm (UTC)The dude with the ring and the fat dude from Goonies met up with Dobby the House Elf and got caught by a guy named "Little Brother". They're all called rabbits, and they call rabbits 'braserkonies'. Go figure.
We also find out that the dude with the sword - Argon - is really a botox poster child (He's like, older than dirt). There are two other rabbits who hang out in a talking tree, and is an overgrown ant.
They also toke up a lot.
Turkeys float.

Date: 2003-11-19 08:31 pm (UTC)We were doing a bugbase review, part of which is this light fluffy bit
where we ascribe numerological significance to certain bug numbers
(666, 1066, etc.). The bugbase in question had only 88 bugs in it.
We were playing the "what's the significance of this number?" game.
So, when Boss Lady got to #42, she said it, and was amazed that so many
of us chimed in with the answer. She obviously never read the
Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy.
"It's okay; we're nerds," I said.
