Way to encourage conservation

madbakerI belong to the local power conservation co-op. We don't get a break in rates, but we do get to buy discounted light bulbs. Every once in a while we get a call asking us to conserve on a high-demand day.
They called offering us a free motion-sensor installation for our porch light. Seems reasonable – it uses less energy, their goal, and is convenient for us. We scheduled them to come by yesterday afternoon. I hurried home to be there on time.

Date: 2004-01-15 05:38 pm (UTC)We do good work, but I think all noon-profits have leanings toward flakiness...because we attract basically good, moral, idealistic people. But not ALWAYS the people with the mad organizational skills. Sometimes...but not always. And the not-always part shows. ;)
