Way to encourage conservation

madbakerI belong to the local power conservation co-op. We don't get a break in rates, but we do get to buy discounted light bulbs. Every once in a while we get a call asking us to conserve on a high-demand day.
They called offering us a free motion-sensor installation for our porch light. Seems reasonable – it uses less energy, their goal, and is convenient for us. We scheduled them to come by yesterday afternoon. I hurried home to be there on time.
