I called in sick today. I woke up feeling nauseous and with a vise clamp around my temples. No alcohol last night, so maybe it was leftover pollen from the event? Anyway, I'm taking it easy but starting to feel a bit better.

Allergies are kicking my butt big time. Thank goodness for the neti pot, or I'd be unable to breathe at night.

Sausage 101 book: the Aidell's one you recced. I'm a touch worried about the salt mixture, as I'm really allergic to something used in the bacon curing process, but since we regularly eat Aidell's sausages, whatever makes me sick for three days is probably not in the salt mixture.

Do you mailorder your casings, or do you have a local resource?

I usually get them locally. Butcher-Packer is pretty reliable for mail-order though.

It was a 24-hour flu, but a friend described it as "the immaculate hangover". All the symptoms of a really nasty hangover, with none of the booze cause.
