Let me go on...
Aug. 3rd, 2011 08:40 amI burned my (fortunately, left hand) palm Sunday. I was moving around a cast-iron skillet that had been in the oven for two hours, and the hot pad slipped. My palm touched the handle, and now I have a dime-sized blister burn.
It could have been a lot worse. Granted, it's 1/8" high right now, but at least it's in a relatively non-inconvenient place: the pinky side of my palm. It hasn't burst, and I've been covering it with cat meds and band-aids. It doesn't generally hurt right now.
If it had to happen, I'll take "mildly annoying" over "incapacitating" any day.

Date: 2011-08-03 04:57 pm (UTC)This is not bright, and I do not recommend it.
(Also, at the moment I have charmingly matching burn-scars on my two thumbs, from two entirely separate events regarding the removal of breads from the oven. They were weeks apart, but the scars look like they happened the same day.)
