Jun. 16th, 2004 07:48 amAccording to today's Wall Street Journal, Elmo became the most popular Sesame Street character in 1996 (edging out Cookie Monster).
Maybe it's a generational thing - Elmo didn't exist when I was growing up - but I've never understood Elmo's appeal.
My favorite was either the Count, or Super Grover.
Not that I'm possessive towards Sesame Street, or anything. Just 'cause we first aired the same day, I mean.
What I'm reading: Andrew Swann, Broken Crescent

Date: 2004-06-16 08:02 am (UTC)My favourite was Mr. Hooper. Always have been a little odd, me. But mostly, a suburb kid, I jsut wanted to live on Sesame Street, with all its urbanness...I hated those kids on there because they got to live in the city...
Which is why I live here now.
I think I may have watched the very first episode. I remember my dad making me sit down and watch this special new TV show...
